Australian Transport Museum Limited Raffles
The Australian Transport Museum Limited is a not-for-profit dedicated to preserving and showcasing the New England region's rich transport heritage. Residents of the Armidale district are caretakers of a remarkable collection spanning private, commercial, agricultural and military transport, from horse-drawn vehicles to modern performance cars, built to operate across road, rail, air, water and farmland. The road vehicles alone number around 400, ranging from sole survivors found nowhere else in the world to authentically original examples representing the diversity of Australia's automotive history. Our mission is to establish a leading transport museum in Armidale to bring these exhibits together under one roof. With development approval now secured and a site at the Armidale Airport Business Park, the museum will become a marquee regional attraction, a world-class facility featuring display areas, a shop, café and function spaces, expected to draw many thousands of extra visitors to the New England Tablelands each year. Funds raised go directly toward building and fitting out the museum to a high standard, helping turn a decade-long community vision into reality.
