Balmain Public School P&C Association The P&C (Parents & Citizens Association) is the parent governance body of the school. Key functions include: Fundraising — organising events (like the Family Fun Day on 5 September) to raise money for school resources, equipment, and programs that fall outside the government's school budget Community building — creating connections between families, staff and the broader Balmain community through events and communications Advocacy — representing parent and community views to the school principal and Department of Education on matters affecting the school Running school services — the P&C typically oversees the canteen and after-school care (like the Eaton Street Centre), either directly or through governance oversight Grant applications — applying for funding from councils, government programs and community organisations to supplement school resources Consultation — the principal is required to consult the P&C on certain decisions under the Education Act 1990 (NSW)
