Every ticket purchased helps contribute towards the vision of providing vulnerable children in Sumba with a safe, nurturing home and the opportunity to build a brighter future.The Need: Sumba, a remote island in eastern Indonesia, is known for its natural beauty, but behind the postcard scene lies a sobering reality. Sumba is one of the most impoverished regions in the country, where access to clean water, education, and healthcare is limited. The most vulnerable victims of this cycle of poverty are the children. Many children in Sumba are orphaned or abandoned due to extreme hardship. Without basic care or support, they are left to survive alone. These children need more than charity - they need protection, safety, nurture and opportunity. The Sumba Life Project was born out of a simple but powerful idea - to give these children a home that is safe, nurturing, and full of opportunity.The Vision: In Sumba the lack of infrastructure and family support systems puts vulnerable children at daily risk. Many have no access to schooling, clean water, or even a regular meal. Without intervention, their future will be one of ongoing poverty and unrealised potential. The mission is to build a Children’s Home - a place where children can be loved, protected, and empowered. This home will be more than just a shelter. It will be a place where:Basic needs are met: food, clean water, clothing and medical care.Education is prioritised, so every child can learn and grow.Skills and self-reliance are developed through training in farming, agriculture, crafts and entrepreneurship.Emotional healing and spiritual growth occur in a nurturing and supportive environment.The Mission: To raise funds to make this vision a reality. This amount will fund:The building of a Children’s Home to house up to 100 childrenProvision of clean water systems and sanitationProvision of furniture, bedding, kitchen, and educational materialsStaff training and operational costsDevelopment of self-sufficiency programs, such as a small-scale farming and local craft workshopsWith your help, we can build a sustainable model that not only cares for vulnerable children but also empowers them to become future leaders and changemakers in their own communities.
