Teen Missions Raffles
Hi! This summer, I will have the opportunity to travel north to the vibrant province of Mae Hong Son and serve alongside the House of Hope Children’s Ministry. House of Hope is a Christ-centred ministry where children and young people experience God’s love, grow in confidence, and are supported in a caring community. Our team will partner with local leaders, contributing in both practical and relational ways to support the ongoing work of the ministry. During our time in Mae Hong Son, we will assist with maintenance and improvement projects that help the day-to-day operations of House of Hope. This may include caring for shared spaces and improving areas where children learn, play, and gather. A significant part of our role will also be teaching conversational English, helping children build confidence and practical language skills that will support their education and future opportunities. The journey will begin with a 7-day training camp at the Teen Missions Australia base in Cooroibah, Queensland, where we will prepare for our time in Thailand. Our training includes activities such as running an obstacle course, personal devotions, Bible teaching, evangelism, and learning new skills like music, puppetry, and drama. When our project in Thailand concludes, we will return to Cooroibah for a debriefing time with the other Teen Missions teams. This time is designed to help us process our experiences, reflect on what we’ve learned, and prepare to return to our home communities with a renewed faith and sense of purpose.
